On March 19, Sean Braxton-Carter appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lawrence R. Daniels for a postponement hearing for his sentence.
Braxton-Carter, 35, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person and having a handgun in a vehicle on a public road on May 2, 2022.
On Feb. 2, 2020, a Baltimore Police Department (BPD)officer responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the 2200 block of West Saratoga Street, where they found 29-year-old Marvin Kosh with gunshot wounds to his torso. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Defense attorney Hunter Pruette requested a postponement because the pre-sentence investigation report was not delivered to them until Saturday, which did not give Braxton-Carter and Pruette enough time to review it. The prosecution was not opposed to the postponement.
The new sentencing date is set for May 16.
Braxton-Carter’s codefendant, Tashonda Childs, was sentenced to 10 years for her involvement in the murder.
