Seminole Avenue Murder Defendant Arrested, Held on Bail

In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Southwest District on Dec. 30, 2023, Baltimore Police Department investigators have arrested 22-year-old Jerrod Smith of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Smith fatally shot 31-year-old Toby Rogers during an altercation inside a home on the 4300 block of Seminole Avenue.

On Jan. 2, detectives arrested Jerrod Smith and transported him to Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with second-degree murder. 

Smith’s bail amount has been set at $100,000. 

On Dec. 30, at approximately 10:14 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 4300 block of Seminole Avenue, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 31-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead at the location.
