On April 11, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland gave a June trial date to non-fatal shooting defendant Jason Estrada.

Estrada, 43, is currently charged with firearm possession with a felony conviction, possession of firearms during a controlled dangerous substance offense, four counts of first- and second- degree assault, four counts of firearm use in a felony violent crime, reckless endangerment, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun on his person and firing a weapon in connection to an Aug. 15, 2023 incident.

The prosecution had no offer for Estrada and his defense attorney, Jason Rodriguez.

Judge Copeland scheduled Estrada’s two-day trial beginning on June 25 before Judge Barry G. Williams.

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, on Aug. 15, 2023, a Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officer responded to reports of a shooting at an auto repair shop on the 4000 block of West Belvedere Avenue.

A disgruntled former customer allegedly threatened employees at gunpoint demanding $1,000 before shooting at the floor. The police investigation revealed the individual had not paid for the work done on the car and so much time had passed that the vehicle was marked abandoned, towed and subsequently put up for auction days before the incident. Detectives believe that customer was Estrada.
