On April 2, first-degree murder defendant Devon Young received a July trial date from Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland.  The proceeding was originally scheduled for last December.

Young, 24, is currently charged with two counts of first-degree murder, firearm possession with a felony conviction and firearm use in a felony violent crime.

The defendant was unable to attend the proceeding due to a transportation issue. The Eastern Correctional Institution can’t bring him to court for another three days. As a result, his appearance was waived.

Young is represented by David Walsh-Little.

Copeland scheduled Young for a three-day trial beginning on July 26.

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, on Jan. 27, 2022, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to a shooting on the 4800 block of Lorelly Avenue, where they found Damond Price with multiple gunshot wounds.

Price, 19, was taken to the Bayview Medical Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. An autopsy was later done and confirmed that Price’s death was ruled a homicide via multiple gunshot wounds.
