Double Homicide Trial Postponed

A double homicide trial was postponed by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland after the prosecution requested more time because they were still trying to gather more information on the case.

Daquan Woodard, 21, is accused of murdering 40-year-old Odell Curtis, and 32-year-old Ricardo Brooks-Watters after a dispute that took place on Feb. 7 near the 4400 block of Belair Road. Woodard is also charged with two counts of firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and two counts of illegal possession of a regulated firearm along with his two counts of first- degree murder.

On Oct. 29, the prosecution and Maureen O’leary, Woodard’s defense attorney, told Judge Copeland that they agreed on a trial start date of Nov. 4.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Hope Tipton is slated to preside over the trial.
