A 21-year-old homicide defendant will proceed to trial rather than plead guilty to the first-degree murder of 19-year-old Julian Fruh in 2022.
During reception court on March 13, the prosecution offered Chase Marco Wilson a plea of life, suspending all but 50 years, for first-degree murder. Wilson and his defense attorney, Brian McDaniel, rejected the offer.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn scheduled Wilson for a four-day trial, beginning July 21, before Judge Gregory Sampson.
According to a news release from Baltimore Police, Wilson and Fruh were believed to be having a dispute on the 4400 block of Marble Hall Road on Aug. 31, 2022, when the defendant shot Fruh in the head.
The defendant was arrested over a month later.
