Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn issued a trial date for a defendant accused of murdering 37-year-old Tyrone Walker during a Jan. 10 reception court proceeding.
During Tuesday’s hearing, the prosecution offered the defendant Dana Davenport life for first-degree murder and a concurrent 20 years, the first five without the possibility of parole for the use of a firearm in a felony violent crime.
Davenport, 29, rejected the plea offered to him.
Judge Phinn scheduled for the defendant’s trial to take place on Aug. 2. It is expected to last five days. At this time, no judge has been assigned to the case.
According to CBS News Baltimore, Davenport allegedly shot Walker multiple times on June 5, 2022, on the 200 block of South Loudon Avenue.
Davenport is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, having a handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun on his person, and two counts of illegal possession of a regulated firearm in connection to the murder of Walker.
