A Baltimore resident facing homicide charges rejected a plea offered the assistant state’s attorney on Feb. 23 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Lundyne Oldes and her defense counsel Brandon Thornton, rejected a plea of life, suspending all but fifty years with five years supervised probation for first-degree murder and a concurrent 20 years, suspending all but five years without the possibility of parole for the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime.
Upon release, the defendant would have also been required to register as a gun offender.
According the the Maryland Judiciary website, the 30-year-old defendant is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery, the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Tyrell Johnson-Woods on June 18, 2021 alongside her co-defendant Devon Pailin.
According to a news release, on the day of the incident, officers were called to the 3800 block of Derby Manor Drive for reports of a shooting. On arrival, officers found Johnson-Woods suffering from a gunshot wound.
Oldes’ trial is scheduled to begin May 22 with Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Christopher Panos presiding. It is expected to last five days.
