A vehicular manslaughter defendant accepted a plea deal on Aug. 8 in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Brandan Brown, 43, agreed to plead guilty to two charges: vehicular manslaughter, for a sentence of 10 years, suspending all but eight years, and a suspended sentence for failure to remain at the scene in an accident concerning death. Brown’s final sentence was 20 years, suspending all but eight years, with five years of probation.
In addition, Brown was also charged with driving with a suspended license and another traffic violation, but the prosecution agreed to drop those charges after Brown’s plea.
According to the prosecution, in December 2022, Brown hit the victim, 44-year-old Julie Bolling, who was on the sidewalk, with his car near the 2300 block of West Garrison Boulevard and ran from the scene.
Brown’s defense attorney was Jerry Tarud, and his plea deal was heard in front of Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer.
