A 19-year-old woman who is being charged as an adult for a 2022 attempted murder was scheduled for trial in September as counsel awaits to hear whether the case will be transferred to juvenile court.
Owings Mills resident Markia Vaughn and her defense attorney, Judit Otvos, appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn to discuss the charges stemming from the incident on Feb. 10, 2022. Charges include attempted first and second-degree murder, conspiracy to first-degree murder, and several weapons, assault, and armed robbery charges.
On March 13, the prosecutor said the case may be transferred to juvenile court; however, it has yet to be determined.
Should the case remain in circuit court, Judge Phinn scheduled the four-day trial to begin Sept. 18 before Judge Charles Dorsey.
