A 38-year-old non-fatal shooting defendant went before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Althea M. Handy for sentencing on Aug. 14.
Darryl Davis pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and firearm use in a felony violent crime on May 22. He was charged with 12 counts, but after pleading guilty to two charges, the other ten were dropped.
Accompanied by defense attorney Christopher O’Meara, Davis was sentenced to eight years for first-degree assault, which will run concurrently to his sentence in another case. For firearm use in a felony violent crime, Judge Handy sentenced him to another concurrent eight-year prison term. Upon release, Davis will be required to register as a gun offender. He will also have to pay all related court costs.
According to a Baltimore Police Department press release, a 41-year old woman was found shot on the 1900 block of Windsor Avenue on June 20, 2023. Police arrested Davis for his involvement in the incident in October of that year.
