The trial of a 29-year-old Baltimore man charged with murder was scheduled to take place on July 11, but it was postponed because the prosecutor was in the hospital.
Travion White is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime and having a handgun in a vehicle for allegedly shooting a 28-year-old man around 7:45 p.m. on the 100 block of N. Kossuth Street on July 8, 2020.
John Hasset, the defense attorney, said he wished to avoid a postponement because of his hectic schedule. Hasset told Baltimore Witness there was a small possibility that the case would occur today.
The defendant’s family was in the courtroom but unaware of what was happening.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yolanda A. Tanner‘s chambers had “no updates” on the case’s postponement.
According to Maryland’s Judiciary website, White’s next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9, 2023.
