Man Sentenced to 75 Years for Brooklyn Murder

A 50-year-old Baltimore man will serve 75 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of a second-degree murder and multiple firearm violations in a Mother’s Day shooting last year.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Althea M. Handy delivered the sentence on June 16.

The defendant, 50-year-old Ronald Hall, was convicted of fatally shooting 37-year-old Albert Manning multiple times on May 11, 2025. Medics reached the scene on the 3500 block of 2nd Street in the Brooklyn neighborhood and pronounced Manning deceased upon arrival. According to medical examiners, Manning had been shot in his aorta, the main artery to his heart.

During closing arguments, the prosecutor said Hall was “specifically targeting” Manning, pointing to surveillance footage that showed the defendant standing nearby as if in wait.

Footage also showed Hall in the area between 4 a.m.-and-5 a.m. before he briefly went home and returned to the area. The prosecutor claimed Hall went home to retrieve his gun in a deliberate and intentional move, indicating premeditation.

When detectives investigated Hall’s unit at Cherryland Apartments they recovered a red-and-black pair of Nike sneakers, a black striped motorcycle jacket, two pairs of motorcycle goggles, and what the state described as “a million” ski masks “with fuzzies” — all of which matched the suspect’s clothes as seen in surveillance footage.

Hall’s defense attorney, Natalie A. Finegar, argued that Hall remained cooperative during the investigation. Finegar suggested the masks found in his apartment were a product that he sold around the community. She added that Hall was seen engaging in friendly interactions with nearby individuals before Manning was shot, and claimed the behavior contradicted that of someone planning a murder.

The jurors ultimately sided with the state and delivered a guilty verdict before Judge Handy on Tuesday.

Judge Handy sentenced Hall to 40 years in prison for the murder of Manning, and a consecutive 35 years on the gun charges.
