A trial date was set for two attempted murder co-defendants on June 24 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland

Kvon Allen Smith, 25, facing charges of attempted first- and second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, first- and second- degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and firearm use in a felony or violent crime. His co-defendant Wondetta Shaw, 35, faces the same charges for their alleged involvement in a Dec. 6, 2023, shooting.

The prosecution offered Smith a plea offer of 18 years, suspending all but 10 years for attempted first-degree murder. The deal also required Smith serve five  years of probation, have no contact with the victim and register as a gun offender. Shaw received the same offer.

Ultimately, both defendants rejected the offer. Smith’s defense attorney Koryn High agreed with the prosecution on a trial date of Sept. 3. Judge Copeland scheduled before Judge Yvette M. Bryant to preside over the case.

Shaw, represented by James Sweeting III, will appear for trial Sept. 24 before Judge Levi S. Zaslow
