On Jan. 23, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Southern District officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Deering Avenue to investigate a reported domestic-related stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers located a 6-year-old Seron O’Neal victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to the back. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was stabbed by his mother’s boyfriend. A person of interest is in custody.
