A 21-year-old Baltimore man rejected a plea of 20 years on Dec. 19 and was scheduled for trial in May 2023.
Khaiyon Moffatt, of the Four By Four neighborhood, and an attorney standing in for his counsel appeared in reception court before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn. The prosecution offered Moffatt 50 years, suspending all but 20 years, and five years of supervised probation for conspiracy of first-degree murder and five years without parole for conspiracy of firearm use in a felony violent crime.
In addition, Moffatt, who is also charged with attempted murder, assault, and weapons charges, would be required to stay away from the victim.
After the defendant rejected the offer, Judge Phinn scheduled a three-day trial for May 19, 2023.
