Jurors reached a verdict in the case of Boaz Ravana Hinton on June 16, acquitting the defendant of attempted murder but convicting him of lesser counts.
Hinton, 47, was originally charged with 12 different counts, including attempted murder, first-degree assault, six gun offenses, two counts of failure to stop his vehicle, and one count of attempting to elude a police officer during an alleged road rage shooting that occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 27, 2025.
Hinton reportedly fired a gun at another driver on the 2500 block of Kirk Avenue, hitting the car but not the victim. Baltimore officers allegedly witnessed Hinton fire the gun and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the defendant fled the scene in his vehicle.
According to police documents, no firearm or ballistic evidence was recovered from the scene. However, a bullet was later found lodged in the rear driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle.
The jury ultimately found Hinton guilty for seven out of 12 counts, including first-degree assault, five gun offenses, and one count of failure to stop his vehicle. Hinton was acquitted of both attempted murder charges and one count of illegally possessing ammunition. His remaining charge of failing to stop his vehicle was dismissed, along with one count of attempting to elude uniformed officers.
Hinton, who is represented by defense attorney Marc Zayon, will be sentenced before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lawrence P. Fletcher-Hill on the afternoon of Sept. 23.
