The attempted homicide trial of Henry Allen was pushed almost four months on March 15 due to the prosecutor’s unavailability.

Allen, 26, was scheduled for a jury trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Erik Atas on Wednesday when an assistant state’s attorney standing in for the assigned prosecutor informed Judge Melissa Copeland that the prosecutor was unavailable.

Defense attorney Maureen O’Leary accompanied Allen on the Zoom call.

Judge Copeland rescheduled the defendant’s trial for July 6 before Judge Timothy Doory.

According to court documents, Baltimore Police were called to the area of Edmondson Avenue and N. Monroe Street on May 31, 2022, and found multiple shell casings outside West Carry-Out and Grocery along the 1800 block of Edmondson Avenue. Bullet holes were also found in a 2006 Toyota Corolla.

Police reviewed security footage, which showed a man walking on the 500 block of North Monroe Street and pulling out a gun as he reached the intersection. The suspect was firing the gun at someone across the street the gun as he rounded the corner before running away.

Two days later, police questioned Allen outside a liquor store on the 1900 block of Edmondson Avenue and noted in court documents that he was wearing a hat and satchel similar to that of the suspect in the video footage.

Allen was arrested later that June.
