Baltimore City Circuit Judge Melissa K. Copeland rescheduled a pretrial hearing Oct. 17 for a 30-year-old attempted murder defendant to let his defense attorney, Donald Wright, review the defendant’s mental health history.
Brian Allen Watkins is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm use in a felony violent crime for an incident on Nov. 11, 2023.
Wright took on the case on Oct. 9. As of Oct. 10, evidence has not yet been exchanged between the parties and a plea has not been extended.
The case is scheduled to continue with another reception court hearing on Jan. 7, 2025.
