Attempted homicide defendant Antionne Johnson appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin on Feb. 14, two weeks after he was ordered to receive a not criminally responsible plea (NCR) evaluation

Johnson is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, discharging firearms, armed carjacking, carjacking, theft between $1,500 and $25,000, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person and in a vehicle in connection to a May 4, 2022, shooting.

Based on the most recent report from Circuit Court Medical, Judge Rasin found Johnson competent to stand trial. She said Johnson’s NCR plea was still pending without the evaluation.

Johnson’s attorney, Roland Harris, asked Judge Rasin to keep the order open so he could meet with Johnson to try and persuade him to undergo evaluation before his March 21 trial date.

Johnson insisted he only wanted to proceed to trial. Judge Rasin  urged Johnson to meet with Harris, but said Johnson will have the final decision about whether to be evaluated or not.

Johnson will appear back in mental health court on March 6.
