Defendant Pleads Guilty to Drug Possession in Lieu of Attempted Murder Charges

On Jan. 29, Stanley Parsons pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute and accepted the sentence of Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yvette M. Bryant

Parsons faced 15 charges: two counts of attempted first-degree and second-degree murder, two counts of first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, having a concealed gun on his person, reckless endangerment, firing a gun in Baltimore City and possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute. 

Parsons, 24, attended court with defense attorney Rodney Gray, who negotiated the dismissal of the major charges as part of the agreement. During the hearing, the prosecutor stated probation would be three years; however, Gray was able to negotiate that down to two.

Judge Bryant sentenced Parsons to seven years in prison with two years of supervised probation. 

Court documents state that the incident occurred on June 23, 2023, on the 2000 block of North Charles Street, the victim was walking down the street when an unknown male began to fire at him. The suspect began to chase the victim, fired and struck him in the left leg.

Baltimore Police Department investigators indicated that the witness on the scene was able to point out the suspect.
