An attempted murder defendant received a May trial date from Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Judge Melissa K. Copeland during an April 16 hearing.

Deangelo Fulton, 27, of Reisterstown, Md., is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person and in his vehicle, firing a gun in Baltimore City and illegal possession of ammunition in connection to a June 4, 2023, incident.

For first-degree assault, the prosecution offered Fulton and his defense attorney, Staci Pipkin, 25 years in prison, suspending all but 12 years, and five years without the possibility of parole followed by five years of supervised probation for firearm use in a felony violent crime. Fulton would also be required to register as a gun offender. Both sentences would run concurrently.

Fulton declined this offer, and Judge Copeland scheduled a three-day trial beginning on May 14 before Judge John A. Howard.
