Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled the trial for a 27-year-old woman accused of attempted murder on April 26.

Deasia Wilson is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on her person, having a loaded handgun on her person and discharging a firearm in connection to a Dec. 9, 2023, incident.

The stand-in prosecutor offered Wilson a plea deal of 50 years, suspending all but 25 years, with five years of probation for attempted first-degree murder. She also offered a sentence of 15 years, the first five years without the possibility of parole, for firearm use in a felony violent crime to run concurrently to the attempted first-degree sentence.

Wilson’s defense attorney, Karyn Meriwether, rejected the offer on her client’s behalf because she had just received the offer and additional evidence. She said she would need more time to review the evidence and meet with her client before Wilson could make an informed decision as to the plea deal.

In the absence of an accepted plea deal, Judge Copeland proceeded to schedule the trial. Wilson will be tried alongside her codefendant Deontrey McDaniel, represented by Natalie Finegar, for four days beginning Aug. 26. Judge Jeffrey M. Geller will preside over the trial.
