On Feb. 5, Gregory Beadles stood alongside his defense attorney Staci Pipkin to hear when he will go to trial.
The defense and prosecution agreed that the trial is going to take four weeks in length, due to the fact that Beadles, age 23, faces 61 charges, including murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, assault and illegal possession of a regulated firearm. There are roughly 50 witnesses that need to testify, said the prosecutor
The trial is currently set for Sept. 16 through October 18. The prosecutor told Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland that he was completely booked with trials for the summer, so that four-week span in the fall was the earliest available date.
However, Judge Copeland responded by saying the dates worked only tentatively as the fall court schedule was not yet open.
Beadles’ codefendants, Pierre Briggs and Karon Tyree Johnson, pleaded guilty on Feb. 5.
