An attempted murder defendant was sentenced in a plea deal on Dec. 3 at Baltimore City Circuit Court hearing and his girlfriend spoke on his behalf.
The defendant, Keiontay Woodlon, 22, pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years suspending all but eight, plus three years of probation. Woodlon also pleaded guilty to firearm use in a felony or violent crime and was sentenced to five years served concurrently with the other term.
The prosecution said surveillance footage shows the defendant firing 14 shots at the victim during the incident on Feb. 23..
During the sentencing Woodlon’s defense attorney, Brandon Mead, invited those close to the defendant to speak on his behalf.
“Woodlon is a family man and does everything to take care of the people he loves,” Woodlon’s girlfriend said.
The proceeding was held before Judge Jeannie J. Hong.
