The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred during the early morning hours in the Northwest District on Feb. 24.
According to a press release, officers were called to the 2600 block of Ulman Avenue at about 1:35 a.m. for a shooting, where they found a 20-year-old female who had been shot in her buttocks.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
While investigating, Northwest District detectives learned that a large fight was taking place at the location where the incident occurred. The victim and her friends were walking away from the fight when someone discharged a firearm, striking the victim, said police.
