The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a homicide in the evening on Jan. 22.
According to a news release, officers were called to the 2300 block of Westport Street at approximately 8:59 p.m. for reports of an unresponsive man at that location, where they found 20-year-old Kenneth Lawson suffering from trauma to the head.
Once the medics arrived, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The victim’s body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s office, where the cause of death was upgraded from a questionable death to a homicide caused by a gunshot, police said.
