A 17-year-old Baltimore teenager refused to plead guilty to first-degree murder and first-degree rape on June 22 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer
Tyrone Harvin, 14, at the time of the alleged incident, is charged with the murder, use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure and rape 83-year-old Dorothy Mae Neal on Aug. 29, 2018.
The prosecutor presented Harvin a plea of life suspending all but 65 years for first-degree murder and first-degree rape.
The prosecution offered the plea on the same day Harvin’s trial was set to begin with opening statements. Harvin and his defense attorney Deborah St. Jean rejected the plea.
