Three Months Later, Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder

The Baltimore Police Department notified the public on June 25 that a suspect in a non-fatal shooting was arrested more than three weeks ago.

According to a press release, officers arrested Shawn Mackey at a traffic stop on June 3 for shooting a 30-year-old woman on the 900 block of S. Caton Avenue on March 5.

After being taken into custody, Mackey, 27, was taken to central booking, where he is being held without bail.

He is charged with two counts of attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a violent crime with a felony convictio, along with one count of carrying or wearing a handgun on his person, having a handgun in his vehicle on a public road, and discharging firearms.

A preliminary hearing at the Baltimore City District Court is scheduled for July 1 at 9:15 a.m. The case is scheduled for arraignment at the Baltimore City Circuit Court on July 29 at 2 p.m.
