In his third appearance at mental health court on Aug. 18 a defendant convicted of first-degree assault was reported as being compliant with treatment.
Ellicott City resident Thurston Mayo pleaded guilty on May 19 for an incident that occurred on July 4, 2020. His initial charges included first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, a felon convicted of a violent crime using a firearm, and discharging firearms.
Mayo told Judge Gale Rasin that he was working towards his second degree and signed up for audio/video/media classes at Howard Community College.
He is slated to get a new doctor in September and was instructed that he would need to sign a release for counsel to receive records.
“I’m looking forward to working hard and improving my life,” Mayo told the judge.
