A 45-year-old Baltimore man charged with homicide was not offered a plea Oct. 14 because the prosecutor had trouble getting into contact with the victim’s next of kin.

Gregory Young is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to an incident on Aug. 19, 2021.

On Oct. 14, the prosecutor informed Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn  that she provided the defense with the initial disclosure and sent out links to body camera footage.

Young was represented by defense attorney Andrea Jaskulsky.

According to a news release, officers were called to the 5100 block of Reisterstown Road after receiving reports of shots being fired. They found 47-year-old Terry Lewis suffering from gunshot wounds.

Lewis died from his injuries on March 20. The Medical Examiner’s office ruled the death a homicide, said police.

Young’s next hearing is scheduled for Dec. 14.
