Prosecution Plays Video Evidence of Shooting During Closing Arguments

An attempted murder defendant went in front of Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer for the last day of his trial June 6.

Ahmad Moulden, 37, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, first-degree assault , second-degree assault, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person and discharging firearms in connection to a July 10, 2022, incident.

The prosecution began her closing argument Friday by replaying a video that allegedly showed Moulden and the victim engaging in a conversation before Moulden was shot.

The prosecutor said that the defendant was heard talking in code about witnesses to the crime as well as the victim. She said Moulden allegedly shot the victim once in the head, and as a result the victim cannot walk, talk or function normally.

The prosecution also played a 911 call when the victim immediately identified Moulden as the man who shot him.

The victim’s relatives were so convinced it was Moulden who shot him, they burned down Moulden’s house, according to the prosecutor.

Defense attorney Granville Templeton’s closing argument was there was no gun, no shell casings and no follow up by the police to the victim for further investigation.

The case is with the jury.
