On Jan. 22, the U.S. Marshals’ Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) and Baltimore Police Department’s Warrant Apprehension Task Force (WATF) members arrested 32-year-old Jamal Smith, following a brief barricade incident on the 1400 block of North Milton Street.
BPD’s SWAT team was notified of a barricade situation in reference to a wanted fugitive and responded to the scene to assist.
CARFTF and WATF detectives apprehended 32-year-old Jamal Smith of Baltimore.
Detectives discovered that Smith had an active murder and two attempted murder warrants for his arrest.
Detectives believe that Smith was involved in the shooting of a 25-year-old male, a 29-year-old male and a 31-year-old male that occurred on June 16, 2022, on the 200 block of Redwood Street. The 25-year-old male, identified as Ryan Harris, was pronounced deceased.
Smith was transported by detectives to the Central Booking Intake Facility.
