Northwest District Detectives Arrest Suspect in Wakefield Road Shooting Homicide investigation

In reference to the homicide that occurred on May 10, 2023, in the Northwest District, investigators have arrested 27-year-old Kedric Green of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Green shot and killed 29-year-old Darren Lamar Shipley, while on the 4500 block of Wakefield Road.

Detectives arrested Kedric Green on July 31, and transported him to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with first-degree murder.

On the day of the incident, at approximately 8:35 p.m., Northwest District officers with the Baltimore Police Department responded to the 4500 block of Wakefield Road to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a Shipley suffering from numerous gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was transported to an area hospital by medics for treatment of his injuries.

Northwest District shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
