Non-fatal Shooting Defendant Granted Home Detention

A Baltimore man involved in a non-fatal shooting received home detention on Oct. 18 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Phillip S. Jackson.

The defendant is charged with possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a firearm, having a handgun on his person, illegal possession of ammo, and discharging firearms in connection to an incident on Oct. 10, 2019.

Defense attorney Bradley Macfee said the defendant had been in jail for 19 months and urgently wanted to be with his family.

He also said the jail had messed up a previous release and the defendant should have gone home. Instead, he was kept in the jail for 19 months. Macfee then recommended home detention.

The prosecution had no objection to this request.

Judge Jackson granted the home detention and the defendant is scheduled to appear in reception court on Nov. 4.
