The prosecution introduced video evidence and autopsy photographs on the third day of a homicide defendant’s trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan Lazerow on Dec. 4.
Defendant Reginald Peay III, 30, is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction and carrying a loaded handgun on his person and in a vehicle in connection to the incident that resulted in the death of Lenora Alston.
Video evidence showed a police officer interacting with Alston prior to her death and prosecutors argued that Alston was in possession of a firearm at the time. The police officer in the video reportedly returned the gun to Alston, who was a legal owner with no criminal history.
The prosecution also presented autopsy photos that showed that Alston suffered six fatal gunshot wounds, including one to the right cheek that traveled to her jaw and neck.
The trial will continue on Dec 5, 2024.
