On Aug. 24, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn rescheduled a hearing for a defendant due to the prosecutor requesting more time to review new evidence.

According to the assistant state’s attorney assigned to the case the codefendant in the case against Lamar Williams had sent in a letter that needed to be reviewed.

Judge Phinn scheduled for all parties to reconvene on Oct. 5 to schedule a new trial date for Williams.

Williams, 24, who is represented by Kenneth Man is charged with attempted first- and second- degree murder, conspiracy to commit first- and second- degree assault, attempted first- and second- degree assault, conspiracy to commit first- and second- degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure, firearm use in felony violent crime and having a handgun on his person.

According to documents released by the District Court of Maryland, on May 31 the victim told officers that he was shot by Shedric Barnes on the 4200 block of Parkmont Avenue. Surveillance footage later revealed Barnes with a second male, later identified as Williams. Video shows Williams going into his waistband and retrieving a gun, then handing it to Barnes.

Barnes can then be seen loading a magazine into the gun and discharging the firearm. Both suspects then flee the scene.
