In reference to a July 19, 2026, shooting in the Southwest District, Baltimore City Police have arrested 39-year-old Johnnie Hawkins of Annapolis, MD.

Hawkins was wanted in connection with the shooting of a 53-year-old male in the 2600 block of West Lexington Street.

On August 7, 2026, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Johnnie Hawkins in Annapolis, MD, and transported him to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted murder and assault.

Southwest District Shooting Investigation

On July 19, 2026, at approximately 10:29 p.m., Southwest District officers responded to the 2600 block of W. Lexington Street in reference to a call of a reported shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and observed a 53-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Southwest District shooting detectives are investigating this incident and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2488.
