Murder Case from 2019 Receives 2023 Trial Date

A Grasonville, Md. resident’s trial was scheduled for January 2023 before Baltimore City Circuit Court expecting to last for five days Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Arnold Larvon Johnson is charged with first degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, illegal possesion of a regulated firearm, and having a handgun on person via carry or wear, in relation to an incident that occured in Feb. 15, 2019. 

During court proceedings on June 29, counsel came to an agreement on a trial date. 

Johnson was represented by defense attorney Gregory Fischer. 

According to the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office, detectives with the Baltimore Police Department were called to the 4900 block of Goodnow Road around 3:45 a.m. on Feb. 15, 2019, for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found a woman—later identified as Maryann Wellington—laying on her back on the kitchen floor with a gunshot wound to her head.

Johnson’s trial is scheduled to begin on Jan. 1, 2023.
