A jury found 29-year-old homicide defendant Kemonta Johnson guilty of all charges on Feb. 7.

Despite attorney Jason Rodriguez’s attempts, the panel found the defendant guilty of first-degree murder, firearm use in felony or violent crime and firearm possession with a felony conviction.

Johnson was arrested March 11, 2023 on the 1600 block of West North Avenue and charged for the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Dontae Johnson on Nov. 24, 2021. The two are not related.  The incident occurred in an alleyway that connects to the 1000 block of Appleton Street.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Althea M. Handy scheduled Johnson’s sentencing date to April 11.
