A trial for a Baltimore man accused of attempted murder was rescheduled for October on April 5 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Eric Ashley Harcum, 53, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree murder, two counts of fire and second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, and two counts of use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in connection with an incident on March 5, 2021.
Judge Phinn listened as the counsel came to an agreement for a trial date. The trial was initially set for April 5.
Harcum was represented by defense attorney Euphus Belu-John.
Harcum’s new trial is scheduled for Oct. 4.
During a hearing on Oct. 1, 2021, the prosecution noted that the defendant’s trial should be specially set because the victim and their family moved to Texas as a direct result of the attack. The victim and victim’s family told prosecutors that they wanted to make sure they are able to testify at the trial.
