Non-Fatal Shooting
|
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yolanda A. Tanner transferred 30-year-old Reginald Whitaker’s hearing to Judge Melissa K. Copeland’s chambers for a postponement on Feb. 7. Judge Tanner informed Whitaker that his defense attorney, Staci Pipkin, could not appear in court due to illness.
Whitaker faces multiple counts of first-degree murder, second-degree assault, firearm possession with a felony conviction, armed robbery and illegal possession of ammunition, as well as related theft and robbery charges.
According to anonymous callers and video footage, during one of the robberies, Whitaker and a female allegedly approached the victim near the intersection of Orleans Street and North Montford Avenue. Whitaker reportedly held his firearm to the victim’s head and robbed him of approximately $1,200 worth of electronics. The victim suffered a non-fatal graze wound to his pinky finger.
Judge Copeland rescheduled Whitaker’s trial to Feb. 20.
