On Nov. 4, a convicted attempted murder defendant pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his probation for a 2012 shooting incident .
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer sentenced Donte Hawkins to an additional 18 months of supervised probation for violating his original probation in February of 2022.
Hawkins, 48, was originally convicted of attempted second-degree murder and using a firearm to commit a violent felony crime in Sept. of 2013. According to court documents, Hawkins was later identified by witnesses as the shooter of a man on the 1600 block of West Baltimore Street in front of Good Times Bar.
Hawkins was represented in his zoom hearing by a stand-in public defender, in place of his attorney Brandon Mead. Defense counsel did not contest the sentence, which was extended to May 2024.
