Amina Thiam is a junior at the University of Baltimore County, where she is completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Prior to her time at UMBC, she completed an Associates of Arts Degree from Montgomery College. She loves to conduct research with the goal of providing honesty and transparency. In her previous volunteer positions, she conducted research for non-profits specializing in human trafficking awareness and prevention and refugee resettlement assistance. She has an interest in sociology, journalism, criminology, and a passion for social justice work. She plans to use her degree and experience at Baltimore Witness to implement social change.
