A 28-year-old Virginia woman accused of first-degree murder had her trial rescheduled for January 2023 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn on June 1.
Shakurah Eason is charged with first-degree murder in connection to an incident on Nov. 14, 2021.
Eason’s defense counsel, Tony Garcia, previously requested to reschedule her trial as her baby is due near her original trial date in June.
According to the Baltimore Sun, an officer with the Baltimore Police Department heard a commotion outside the Residence Inn at the Johns Hopkins medical campus on the 800 block of N. Wolfe Street on Nov. 14. Upon further investigation, the officer found Donald Eason Jr. trapped under an Infinite sedan.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries on Nov. 20.
Eason’s trial is now scheduled for Jan. 17, 2023, and is expecting to last five days with Judge Philip S. Jackson presiding.
