On Dec. 6, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin postponed the hearing of 59-year-old homicide defendant Richard Sylvester Green in mental health court.
Green is charged with first-degree murder, three counts of the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, first-degree attempted murder, and first-degree assault in connection to an incident on June 10, 2020.
Defense attorney Sharon Bogins explained to Judge Rasin that the defendant’s doctor wanted to meet with him prior to the hearing. She also stated that the doctor preferred the hearing to be in the New Year.
The prosecutor had no objections. A new hearing date has been set for Jan. 17, 2024.
According to the Baltimore Police Department Facebook post, incident details state that the defendant shot 57-year-old Tyra Phillips Womack on June 10, 2020, on the 2400 block of Albion Avenue. The victim was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she died.
