The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting in the early morning hours on May 27.
According to a news release, patrol officers were called to the 4400 block of Wakefield Road around 1:58 a.m. for reports of a shooting, where they found an 83-year-old woman suffering from an apparent gunshot to the arm.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in bed reading a book when a round came through the window, striking the victim in the arm.
