A 76-year-old Baltimore man accused of homicide rejected a plea of 30 years with five years probation on Feb. 4 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Ronald Tazewell is charged with first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in connection an incident on Feb. 23, 2021.
During reception court on Friday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life suspending all but 30 years with five years probation for first-degree murder.
Tazewell and his defense attorney, Deborah Levi, rejected the plea offer.
According to Baltimore Fox, at approximately 9:23 p.m., officers were called to the 500 block of Dolphin Street to investigate a reported disturbance. They found an unresponsive 57-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds.
Medical personnel were summoned and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Tazewell’s trial is scheduled for Sept. 5.
