As the middle of November approaches, data from homicides that occurred during the first 11 days of the month show a trend in violent crime that is set to continue.

Data shows that the November homicide count for the city, spanning the first 11 days of the month, was lower, by one homicide, than October, but on-par with August and September during the same time period. From Nov. 1-11, there were nine homicides in Baltimore.

The average age of a homicide victim from this period was 38 years old. The oldest victim was 60-year-old Alton Henderson of Frankford on the 4800 block of Claybury Avenue in Frankford on Nov. 6.

One homicide victim during this period remains unidentified: a 43-year-old male who was killed on the 3900 block of Elmore Avenue in Belair-Edison on Nov. 1.

Baltimore Witness documented 10 homicides in October and 15 homicides in July.

Non-fatal shootings took a dip, according to the data, in the first 11 days of November with 19, a 42 percent decrease from the same time period in October.

Even though non-fatal shootings saw a large decrease from October, there were still more shootings that September, which accounted for 14. July and August and accounted for 22 and 21 non-fatal shootings, respectively.

The average age of a victim who was wounded by gunfire but survived, from Nov. 1 to Nov. 11, was 28 years old.

A 15-year-old male and 20-year-old male were shot on the 2400 block of Christian Street on Nov. 5 and a 17-year-old male was shot, also non-fatally, on the 3400 block of Hilldale Place. The victims were the youngest of all homicide and non-fatal shooting victims during the period.

Almost half of all non-fatal shootings occurred in the Northwestern and Southeastern police districts. Comparatively, the homicides were more spread out in the Southern, Southeastern, Central and Northern districts.

On Nov. 10, Baltimore Police Department officers arrested 59-year-old Tyrone Epps for the attempted murder of a 25-year-old man on Nov. 5 in Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood in the Northeast Police District of Baltimore.

Police said the shooting was in retaliation to a dispute that occured between the two men just before the incident.

Epps is the only suspect that has been apprehended in connection to homicides or non-fatal shooting incidents during the period.
