Double Shooting Investigation Underway in Central District

On May 4, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of West Lafayette Avenue for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 51-year-old Douglas Bates and an unknown female who were suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital where they were listed in critical condition.

On May 8, the BPD reported that Bates died from his injuries on May 6.

At this time, Central District homicide detectives with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) have no information about a motive or suspect(s).
